Owen turned 1 year old on February 26th! We had a small family party for him on the 27th where he got a few gifts and a cupcake. We didn't get very good pictures of his cupcake eating because someone (who will remain nameless....not me.) put the cupcake with the candle still lit in front of him and of course he touched the flame and started screaming! After that we couldn't get him to touch the cupcake at all. In fact he was looking at it like he was afraid of it. But he would eat it if I put a piece in his mouth for him. Even the next day after I tried again for messy face pictures he still wouldn't eat in on his own. I do have a few pictures of him eating a chocolate cookie about a month ago where he got pretty messy. So you can pretend those are his birthday cake pictures.
Owen has been SUCH an awesome baby! We love him so much. He is so calm and funny and he really enjoys his life. He really loves his brothers and loves to play peek-a-boo a lot! Some of the tricks he can do at age one are he can make the birdie, monkey and lion sounds. He can answer the question "How old are you?" by pointing with one finger. He can sign "more", "eat or food", "Help", "please", "thank you" and "all done!" And he loves to wave "bye-bye." He can walk and tries to run. He has eight teeth and is getting a molar right now. He sleeps through the night....pretty much. he gets up once at about 4 or 5 and then goes back to sleep. That is the only time he nurses. Other than that he is on 2% milk. Yes!
The only negative things I can think of are he has excema on his cheeks and back and chest. But we are taking care of that the best we can. He has only had one teeny tiny ear infection that went away fast. Much different than Javen and Jaxon who had SOOOO many of them. He has had a bad cold that came with conjunctivitous. But that was quickly taken care of as well.

Happy birthday Owen! Maybe it's not such a bad thing to be afraid of cupcakes. Maybe we should all try to burn our kids on their first birthday ;-).
wow! can't believe our boys are one this month! where did the time go?! he's so cute guys! how fun to have a house full of boys. :)
